Website Design

As a technical writer knowing how to design for the web is an essential skill for our digital age. Take a look at these great examples of website redesigns and concept pieces.

This portfolio piece defines certain concerns one may have with the security of information in the healthcare system. As a pharmacy technician, I encounter personal information about people everyday.

I play a part in how this type of information is protected and preserved. This website defines HIPPA, why it is important, and how it is implemented.

The piece also outlines the different systems healthcare workers may use that are vulnerable to attacks, what to look for when attacks take place, and an example of a recent cybersecurity attack that affected real patients.

This is a redesign of an existing website, Spinners on the Green. It is a disc golf shop next to a well known course in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The original site is very outdated and needed a modern touch. For your information, the current site has been updated recently, however my edit still stands. Most of the content was well thought out, just not organized well.

I did my best to keep the message the same, while taking time to revitalize the overall design.

Defining your audience is part of the design process. In this portfolio piece, I created a character who was in an abusive relationship with his father.

This teenager wanted to create a website that allowed people like him to band together and share experiences, so they wouldn't have to suffer alone in silence.

This website is written from his perspective. What would he emphasize? What would he want people to know? What resources did he use or want people to be aware of?

As one who as not been in such situations, it was an intellectual exercise to get into that mindset and dive in deep.
